The British Museum – After-Hours
At Plan A, we believe that sharing our knowledge, celebrating our projects, and spending quality time together are key to our office culture.
Hayley Chivers, Associate Design Manager, and Dina Abu Shamat, Design Manager, who are currently supporting Lina Ghotmeh — Architecture on the transformation of the British Museum Western Range project, recently led a team outing to this iconic cultural landmark.
From the history of the building to the architect’s vision for the future, Hayley and Dina guided us around the different galleries, highlighting key design gestures that will enhance the visitor experience and re-imagine the display of amazing stories from around the world.
The visit was a unique chance to go beyond the deliverables and dashboards, to learn from our team’s about:
- What it means to be a Design Manager on a complex, high-stakes heritage project
- How risks are managed behind the scenes
- How thoughtful leadership helps our clients stay focused on what they do best: creating outstanding architecture.
We are all passionate about architecture and design – social outings like these are a great way to build understanding across teams, inspire junior staff and remind ourselves why we do what we do.
