St Luke’s Community Centre – Volunteering Sessions
We are delighted to share our journey of volunteering with St Luke’s Community Centre over the past year. This collaboration has allowed us to connect with amazing people, share our skills, and make a positive impact on the community.
Here are some of the initiatives we’ve been proud to support:
💻 PC Pals Classes: For the past five months, we’ve been joining St Luke’s every Wednesday for their PC Pals classes, helping community members with technology and computer skills. Whether assisting beginners or helping those looking to enhance their digital literacy, it’s been rewarding to see people grow more confident in using technology.
👨🍳 Cookery Classes: We have taken part in the Community Cookery Classes, providing guidance to the children participating in the classes. From reminding them to wash their hands and wear aprons, helping them with using knives and general safety in the kitchen.
🎩 Suited and Booted Campaign: Through this initiative, we’ve been organising and preparing donated work clothes, ensuring they’re ready for individuals preparing for job interviews. Helping people to present their best selves and take the next step in their careers has been incredibly fulfilling.
🌿 Community Garden Maintenance: Our team has been busy maintaining St Luke’s beautiful garden planters and benches, creating a peaceful space for community members to relax and enjoy nature. It’s been a pleasure to contribute to such a serene and welcoming environment.
Volunteering at St Luke’s Community Centre has been a truly enriching experience for us. It has strengthened our commitment to community engagement and reminded us of the importance of collaboration and support. The bonds we’ve formed and the smiles we’ve witnessed have made every effort worthwhile.
We are excited to continue our partnership for the rest of the year!
