Westfield London Phase II, London, UK

Phase I of the Westfield London development was completed in 2011. Phase II opened in 2018 and comprises over a million ft² of retail space, including a new 230,000ft² flagship John Lewis store and 1,500 new homes within the wider development. The retail expansion provides 70 new retail units and kiosks in the first phase and includes a major new restaurant wing and additional retail units improving the connection between the retail and the existing public realm.

Plan A was appointed directly by Westfield as a consultant during Phase II. Located full time out of the site office, our Design Management role related to two specific and key tasks. The first was to put in place the documentation and procedures necessary to support the design process and allow better decision making by the Client team. The second task related to the setting up and then monitoring of the design programme and progress reporting..
