UCL East Marshgate, London, UK

Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, UCL is London’s leading multidisciplinary university with more than 13,000 staff and 38,000 students from 150 different countries. UCL East is the masterplan to transform the institution: its largest single expansion since the college was founded.

Marshgate will be the main educational component of the first phase of UCL East. The building includes a range of laboratories, research and group working spaces, design studios, student-led fabrication workshops, and exhibition areas for academic activities including media, conservation, heritage, future manufacturing, and training for financial and business leaders.

Plan A’s Key Responsibilities

  • Overall design schedule preparation and management.
  • Team organisation.
  • Meeting schedule, agenda and minutes; chairing principals’ meetings and reporting on progress.
  • Preparation and distribution of sub-consultancy agreements, and invoice management.
  • Design management documentation including execution plans and monthly progress reports.
  • Ensuring requirements of the NEC appointment were met – activity schedule, EWN trackers etc.
  • Tracking and resolution of design issues.
  • Change tracking and producing impact assessments with design team input.
