The Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD) is one of the single, largest construction projects undertaken by any UK higher education institution.

The development for the University of Manchester provides modern facilities in a bespoke environment, to support world leading research and an outstanding teaching and learning experience for more than 8,000 students and staff.

Plan A’s Key  Responsibilities

  • Established and implemented design procedures and protocols that have been specifically tailored for Manchester Engineering Campus Development.
  • Prepared a Design Management strategy to make sure that the factors for project success were identified early, effectively communicated with all participants in the architectural and engineering teams and monitored as the process unfolded.
  • Set up a meeting strategy for the project and participated, recorded and tracked actions raised at each of these design sessions.
  • Managed updates to sub-consultant Contracts and prepared final documents.
