Royal Diriyah Opera House, Diriyah, KSA 

The Royal Diriyah Opera House occupies a significant location on Diriyah Gate ll central Boulevard and is envisioned as a gateway development in the greater Riyadh.

This iconic project is considered a major asset to the region that represents the blending of Najdi culture with Riyadh’s contemporary society. It aims to illustrate the continuity between old and new through a new contemporary Najdi architectural language. This architectural vision (Origins) aims to celebrates the past while building for the future.

The Royal Diriyah Opera House will fit coherently within the wider DGII masterplan and provide links to the rest of the development through key transport infrastructure and public realm spaces. It is established on the vision of creating a best-in-class destination, fit for purpose to act as an international venue of the highest standing. The project aims to host local, regional, national, and international events. Opera House facilities will support the operator programme of events and will include the primary functional elements:

Plan A’s Key Responsibilities

  • Provided support in sub-consultancy agreements and reviewed fee and scope proposals received. Identified design deliverables of all disciplines at each design stage and prepared, agreed, and issued Design Deliverables Schedule to the Client. Supported the preparation of formal communications to the Client (letters).
  • Prepared Primavera P6 Master Design Programmes and fully coordinated progress reports at defined intervals (weekly and monthly). Prepared, maintained, and issued a selection of Plan A design management tools, including DMP, Project Directory, Key comment trackers, RFI schedules, Risk registers and stage specific Route Maps.
  • Prepared and maintained a Meeting Schedule and establish a strategy for meetings, workshops and procedures for convening, chairing, attendance, function, and frequency. Recorded actions and prepared meeting minutes for client and Design team meetings while monitoring the need for circulation of information to the via Aconex and the design team. Monitored design team and PMC communications and distribution of information.
