Heathrow expansion will help deliver new domestic routes and connect more of the country to fast growing markets around the world. Expansion will give Britain the vital new hub and export capacity it needs to ensure that generations to come can compete in the world. For passengers, expansion will deliver world-class facilities, connections to new destinations and more frequent flights.

Grimshaw’s project remit involved Masterplan Design and Guardianship, all new terminal and satellite infrastructure and aprons for Heathrow Expansion associated with the proposed third runway, as well as new Landside Terminal Zones developments, including passenger interchange and commercial development.

Plan A’s Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement design procedures and protocols that were specifically tailored for Heathrow Expansion.
  • Plan A helped Grimshaw to structure and implement these procedures early in the project to aid effective management and delivery of their agreed scope of services.
