The College of Architecture at Kuwait University was first established by Amiri Decree in 2010 and currently operates from two campuses, Architectural engineering at Khaldiya and Visual Communications & Interiors at Adailiyah. These two existing campuses will now form part of the new College of Architecture (COAR) and is planned for 1140 students and 290 Administration/Faculty

The new college (for Men and Women) have a combined total gross built up area of 96,225sqm. It consists of a basement for faculty parking, a basement mezzanine for Storage / support etc, ground level + 6 upper floors having faculty zone, design studios, student zone and an auditorium.

The COAR consists of the following departments: Architecture, Visual Communication, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Architectural Engineering, City Planning & Urban Design, and Industrial Design.

Plan A’s Key Responsibilities

  • Establish communication procedures and protocols for the project, plan the work required and establish reporting procedures.
  • Regular reporting to the client team on progress and key issues to help ensure that decisions required were understood and tracked.
  • Involved in detailed programming exercises with the Client and Design Team to help prioritise works required, establish key design fixes to reach outline planning and safeguard the scheme whilst works progressed beneath below ground.
  • Design management documentation including trackers, execution plans and RFI schedules.
