Mental Health Awareness Month 2025 at Plan A

May marked Mental Health Awareness Month – a time to focus on mental well-being, challenge stigma, and speak openly about how we’re truly feeling. At Plan A, we recognise that mental health is just as vital as physical health, and we’re committed to supporting our team’s well-being through engaging and meaningful initiatives.

Here’s a recap of what we planned and did throughout Mental Health Awareness Month in May:

Monthly Step Challenge (1–31 May): We harnessed our team’s competitive spirit and kicked off the month with a Step Challenge. Walking and physical movement are proven to reduce stress, improve mood, clear the mind, and we encouraged everyone to participate – at their own pace. This has been a huge success, with the team walking nearly 10 million steps in May!

Weekly Well-being Initiatives: Throughout May, we also hosted weekly initiatives bringing awareness and action towards looking after our own and others’ mental health.

Week of 6 May: Mental health-focused CPD, led by our Mental Health Team – aimed at raising awareness of mental health in the workplace and outside, and sharing actionable tips and resources. This was a workshop-style CPD where we went through some exercises together, aimed at mindfulness and reducing stress.

Week of 13 May: Journaling & Reflection Week – a week devoted to introspection. Encouraging the team to reflect with different prompts on gratitude and self-love sent each day.

Week of 27 May: Creative Week – focused on the benefits of creativity for mental wellbeing. We also teamed up with the Socials Team for a “Painting in the office” event at the end of the month, linking our social calendar with activities beneficial for our mental health.

Week of 2 June: Lunchtime Walk, hosted by a member of our team – fresh air, movement, and sharing some architectural history of the area as an added plus.

Why this all Matters…

At Plan A, Mental Health Awareness Month is always more than just a calendar observance- it’s an opportunity to have open conversations, share real-life tips and resources, and create a space where mental health is acknowledged, supported, and understood.
