Her Success is Our Success. Give, Gain, Grow.
Here at Plan A, we aim to be the change we want to see in the industry. That’s why it was important for us to continue the discussion beyond International Women’s Day.
Last week, we organised a panel discussion with RWDI, where our eight women panellists openly shared their experiences, solutions and hopes to improve diversity and inclusion within the built environment.
From the risks associated with the “super woman” rhetoric, to the importance of genuine flexibility for working parents, the urgent need to get more women involved in AI to avoid reinforcing gender biases, touching on the role men play as allies in these conversations – the discussion covered a lot of topics. One thing everyone in the room agreed on: diversity is not a luxury, it is essential – and we should have these conversations and challenge ourselves all year round.
Because as Jennifer Sale, Associate Director and host, said in her intro notes: “Equity, like good architecture, doesn’t happen by accident – it has to be built.”
Thank you to our two hosts: Jennifer Sale and Jeniffer Lowther from RWDI and to our eight brilliant panellists: Anna Ifanti, Tara .I. Gbolade, Tracy Meller, Christelle Escoffier, Ruth Shilston MBE, Isabel Hayes (nee Scruby), Katya Samokhvalova, and Olivia Stobs-Stobart.
